I remember being annoyed by those things in wizardEbenezum walked before me along the closest thing we could find to a path in these overgrown woods. Every few paces he would pause, so that I, burdened with a pack stuffed with arcane and heavy paraphernalia, could catch up with his wizardly strides. He, as usual, carried nothing, preferring, as he often said, to keep his hands free for quick conjuring and his mind free for the thoughts of a mage. Dion seems to be running low on user submissions. Help out by thinking of something funny! Also: since you can't create items of polymorph by polypiling, perhaps creating doppelgangers by polymorph should be disallowed?

I don't think he's running low on user submissions. He still has a whole bunch of mineMade by Dwarfs. The Rule here is that the Mine is either long deserted or at most is inhabited by a few survivors who will make confused claims to have been driven out/decimated by humans/ other Dwarfs/Minions of the Dark Lord. Inhabited or not, this Mine will be very complex, with many levels of galleries, beautifully carved and engineered. What was being mined here is not always evident, but at least some of the time it will appear to have been Jewels, since it is customary to find unwanted emeralds, etc., still embedded in the rock of the walls. Metal will also be present, but only when made up into armor and weapons (_wondrous_). (Pssht, Nameless, don't say I have enough...) :-) The whole week is filled with pet-related comics, in a sense, and the pending submissions didn't blend in very well. So I made one myself. Maybe it's time that the readers decide which comic is next?:-)

this reminds me of when I was playing ZAngband recently, and my chaos patron kept giving me pets that exploded. (Juggling Zangband & Nethack is quite hard, as I keep trying to use commands from the wrong game).
