Does the word "literal" have any literal meaning anymore, or is it just for emphasis now? Can I use it to mean anything I want it to mean, like "smurf" and "ironic?" |

The word "literal" is supposed to mean "not in any figure-of-speach way", like "I literally jumped for joy" means you actually jumped.
Some people have mangled the word's use to meean "very". It's annoying. |
