I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out why the room looks the way it does. |

Well those are all boulders. Had a tad trouble too, at first, because my boulders don't look like that. |

Antheridium: The zeroes are his fort, and the twos are puddings out of the line of sight (with warning). Nice to see someone working with line-of-sight, I like it.

Boulders probably should have appeared as '`', but otherwise it's good. |

Right, I figured that's what everything was, but I'm at a loss to figure why he had done that. I guess I just don't know anything about farming.
I guess the spot to the north of him is his pile of rejected artifacts? |

forts are a common thing farmers use, it helps keep things organised when they can only pile onto you from one direction. Some players go the whole hog and surround the fort with static monsters (either blue jellies or quivering blobs, I can never remember which) to stop giants picking the boulders up.
Yeah, farming can be quite involved. :-) |

A bit late, but...
Quivering blobs aren't sessile. They're very slow, but they can move. The only real choices for building a fort are blue jellies and spotted jellies. (Molds are also sessile, but they can't survive having boulders dropped on them. The doesn't move, but you can't summon her.) Probably you'd want to use blue jellies, as the spotted ones can damage your weapon if you have to kill them. |
