Dudley's dungeon

The floating eyeFloating eyes, not surprisingly, are large, floating eyeballs
which drift about the dungeon. Though not dangerous in and
of themselves, their power to paralyse those who gaze at
their large eye in combat is widely feared. Many are the
tales of those who struck a floating eye, were paralysed by
its mystic powers, and then nibbled to death by some other
creature that lurked around nearby.

...except of course, the eye is still on the ground after it has been eaten... unless it is a stack of eyes, or the eye dropped an appleNEWTONIAN, adj. Pertaining to a philosophy of the universe
invented by Newton, who discovered that an apple will fall
to the ground, but was unable to say why. His successors
and disciples have advanced so far as to be able to say
when.

Come on guys, it seems like some of you enjoy pedantic comments more than the comics...

Everyone before me rated this strip Excellent, so now I have to vote Excellent or to avoid my becoming a repugnant outcast of the community. I voted Fair.

Accursed typo. Food Ration, I approve of that retcon.

I don't get it...

(Would it be possible to remove the 'Reset' button under this comment facility? It is thoroughly useless and it drives me insane when I press it accidentally.)

I also don't get it. But I appreciate the pedantic comments nonetheless. :p

The eye dropped out of junior high, so is stupid. Eating it gave Dudley a strange mental vacuity, rather than acuity, i.e. emptiness.

Oh, is it supposed to be acuity?! I always thought it was a typo for mental activity!

I came here for the pedantry, and stayed for the comics.

Actually, just about any monster can have random deathdrops.

You can retcon this all you like, but I think it's pretty clear that the author just forgot to put Dudley in the proper square in the last panel, considering that panel looks exactly the same as the first one.

Wow, I didn't notice that nit-pick, at first!

My explanation would be that Dudley is losing his short-term memory, but not his long-term just yet, so it's as if he's been neuralyzed, or something, like in Men in Black.

Er, something like that.
