...Wow. If you get excited over that, JMesh, you must have a life that makes us "Nethack nerds" look like -defying daredevils. |

I'm not sure, actually. The past few comics have rather confused me, I'm sure all will become clear soon. Also, it must be difficult to keep coming up with comic ideas.. I feel like I should submit one... |

LOL I found this one quite amusing, and great insight into Nethack. Now I think of it the AoY doesn't actually do that much usefull, and has far for dangers than benefits to actually use it. |

I just think of the AoY like Frodo's . It didn't do much on the outside other than make Frodo invisible, but it did seem to create all sorts of problems... still waiting for the twist ending though... |

I think it is referring to the mysterious force in this comic, although there are several other drawbacks to possessing this "powerful" artifact.. |

Comment to JMesh:
Well well! It seems we'll be seing more of you then?
Since you've figured out how to get past the questions I'll protest that you are no longer a ! You must have mysteriously evolved into another kind of being.
I know this must be so, since the average has a hard time understanding the concept of a , and absolute no understanding of passwords...
You are perhaps now a fiend? or an ? what would you best like to be seen as?
As for some of your postings being irritating... well... I'm a father of three kids whose favorite passtime is running around the house fighting each other, screaming out loud - and generally making as much noise as possible trying to extract the maximum amount of attention to themselves...
Let's just say you'll have a hard time trying to piss me off.
B.t.w. have you ever played Diablo? Did you then notice the similarity of the gameplay of nethack and Diablo? Are you angry with Diablo players as well?
Let me finish by doing something that may offend the regular posters here, but something that I find is in the spirit of nethack - given the all-embracing nature of the net-hacking universe, lawfulneutralchaotic.
I'll just say: Hello JMesh, welcome to NetHack! :-) |

Nesman and Violist:
When you carry the there is an annoying tendency to random teleportation. You're trying to leave Gehennom and the Dungeons, and you keep getting teleported back to the "down" stairs. (Not having gotten that far myself, I don't know if the teleportation is only on the same level, or if you may also be level teleported down.) Anyway, it can get frustrating, especially if the keeps appearing to try to take the back. (Apparently he's something of a pickpocket.) |

The AoY is particularly annoying if you're lawful, because it has a high change of teleporting you back up to -three- levels, which makes it a run for your luck when you try to get out to the planes.
Of course, that's balanced by the fact that lawful characters don't have to deal with all the archons' "summon nasties" spells on the air and astral planes.
I don't see why the gods find it so great, when it's cursed. Heck, I think Set would be happier with a few amulets of life saving. |

The "bad stuff" is just the 's failsafes, which affect only mortals. Gods are not affected by those failsafes. |

There seriously ought to be a level where you go -slaying, or at least get some good divine fights going. |

I'd like to point out that the people trolling these comments often calling themselves 'JMesh' or 'Jmesh' are impersonating me. Please can you ignore them. I am going to stop showing Dudley's Dungeon to random people who have never head of NetHack. Thanks. |

the only teleports you in Gehennom. It does telport you down levels, and only when you are trying to go up a level. A helm of opposite allignment is often used by lawfuls to get out of Gehennom, as the teleport is not only less often but you go down less levels as well. Its annoying, but at this point in the game its never killed me. Im a packrat so at this point i have more than enough telport charges on wands that it provide as aonly a minor annoyance. |

Gotta hate my schizophrenia! That last post was my alternative self and this post is me, as was that but the me in this post is a different me to that that claims to be me in the other post by me, which as discussed was by me, but not by me. |

The best thing is to be a , with teleportnig and teleport control. Then you can easily teleport yourself from upstairs to upstairs. |
