Amusing. Doubly so, considering that I was just reading a thing on relativistic fireballs while the comic was loading... |

Ehheh, now this was a good one. Took me a couple of minutes to understand, but it was worth of it. Should have understood sooner, physics made up a big part of my studies after all. |

I had no idea that picking up an object caused it to move AWAY from you. I'd think that by bringing it closer to your eyes, it would be BLUE-shifted. |

"Tracer" was right. It should have started out red and become blue, or at least gone from blue to ultraviolet.
Other than that, I had a hard time getting it, as I'm not much of a physics person. |

Haha, fantastic. There was the moment, (what is this about) for a while and then a big :D
Tracer and Fathead, since the is faster compared to the surroundings, he is sensing the frequency of incoming wave to be lower than it actually (in monster time reference) is. |

This is the best one so far that I like. Is there a in NetHack? Soon you are going to be moving so fast that relativistic effects will take over

Wouldn't work. The gem would have to move, since it is the speed of the gem, and not of himself, that change the colour. There he is only faster compared to the speed of , but the Red Shift is made by a variation in wave-lenghth, not directly by speed. |
